According to non-profit leaders, the grant will support the organization’s efforts to provide reliable access to nutritious food across several distribution programs. These initiatives include an onsite pantry, mobile pantries and mobile deliveries.
The Manna Food Project targets its assistance toward specific vulnerable populations within the community. These groups include hardworking families, single parents, veterans and seniors living on fixed incomes who are in need of food assistance.
Organization leaders also said food-insecure people face significantly higher risks for chronic health conditions. These medical issues include diabetes, obesity, heart disease and mental health disorders.
