LANSING – An Isabella County man capped off a run of good luck with a $500,000 prize playing the Michigan Lottery’s Lincoln instant game.
“I typically buy draw game tickets, and my wife plays instant games,” said the player, who chose to remain anonymous. “She had been having some good luck on the Lincoln game, so I decided to skip the draw games and just get Lincoln tickets.
“I gave the tickets to my wife to scratch, and since she wasn’t wearing her glasses, she handed one to me and asked: ‘What does this mean?’ as she pointed to the money bag symbol. I said ‘this’ is a really, really big winner!”
The 56-year-old player bought the winning ticket at the Winn EZ Mart, located at 7961 Winn Road in Winn. Winn is about 10 miles southwest of Mount Pleasant.
The player recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim his big prize. He plans to save his winnings.
Players have won more than $13 million playing Lincoln, which launched in May 2024. Each $5 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $5 up to $500,000. More than $17 million in prizes remain, including two $500,000 top prizes, 19 $5,000 prizes, and 34 $2,000 prizes.
Lottery instant games may be purchased at retailers across the state.
