Grayling man killed after walking into traffic on I-75, troopers say

On Tuesday night, Jan. 14, troopers were dispatched to a report of a pedestrian hit by a car on the I-75 Business Loop near Meadows Drive in Grayling.

Troopers arrived and found the 84-year-old Grayling man unresponsive. They rendered first aid until EMS arrived and determined the man to be deceased.

According to the MSP report, a blue Hyundai Ion was headed north on I-75 in the right lane when the Grayling man walked into its path from the west. Troopers said the Hyundai driver, a man from Kingsley, cooperated with law enforcement after hitting the man.

Troopers were assisted by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Grayling Police Department and Grayling Fire Department. Anyone with any additional information is encouraged to contact the MSP Houghton Lake Post at 989-442-5103.
