On Tuesday night, Saab invited the public to Kirtland Community College in Grayling for an informational meeting about their proposed plant.
Earlier this year, Saab announced their intention of building a plant in Grayling. The former automaker, now military defense and weapons manufacturer, said the plant will be focused on final assembly and testing of land-based weapons systems.
Several top executives from Saab met with the public and answered questions about the project, like safety and environmental concerns.
“We’re committed to making this community successful and supporting the future of this community. I think people are going to come asking some good questions and I expect they’re going to walk away understanding that we’re transparent and that we’re going to be collaborative partners going forward,” said Brad Barnard, Vice President and General Manager of Land Systems, Saab, Inc.
