Today we are joined by Melissa Smith from TC Paw Cat Rescue to introduce us to two adorable cats names Nyx and Nisa. They are both only 2 months old so cannot be adopted just yet but will be ready to move to their forever homes in the next week or two.
The reason we are visited by these two sweet little ones today is to discuss Black Cats and the Halloween holiday. Cats are not toys or decoration, but new family members that deserve a life full of love even after spooky season comes to a close. Here are some other things to remember:
- Any cat is not a toy or a decoration. It is a full time responsibility that needs love, attention and medical care.
- You should never buy a cat as a gift or for a holiday. Again, this is a serious commitment.
- Black cats go back in history and are associated with Halloween or spooky superstitions.
- The reality is that there are at least 22 black cat breeds including long and short-haired cats.
- Most people overlook them and go for the colorful cats but the reality is that black cats are truly superb.
If you are looking for a loving cat instead of a kitten, please consider the incredibly sweet Sissy! She is from Kalkaska and after her owner passed away suddenly this past summer, Sissy and her brother Gus came to the rescue. Gus has found his forever home, but Sissy is still looking for someone to snuggle with.
