Michigan’s Yaxel Lendeborg earns AP First Team All-American honors

ANN ARBOR - Michigan forward Yaxel Lendeborg was named an Associated Press First Team All-American on Tuesday. The honor comes as the Wolverines enter the NCAA Tournament as a No. 1 seed.

Lendeborg is one of only five players in the country to earn the first-team distinction this year. He helped lead Michigan to a 29-2 regular-season record.

Lendeborg, a 6-foot-9 forward, averaged nearly 15 points per game during the regular season. His statistical contributions also included an average of seven rebounds and three assists per contest.

The Wolverines finished the regular season with a 29-2 record to secure their top seeding. This marks the first time the program has been in a position to return to the national championship game since 2018.

Lendeborg, a senior, will lead the Wolverines as they attempt to reach the national championship for the first time in eight years.
