COMSTOCK PARK — The West Michigan Whitecaps announced the Fried Pickle Quesadilla as the winner of the 2026 Fan Food Vote. The winning dish will be featured on the menu at LMCU Ballpark for the upcoming baseball season.
The Fried Pickle Quesadilla consists of fried pickle chips and melted pepper jack cheese folded into a flour tortilla. The item is served with a side of ranch for dipping and will be available to fans starting on opening night.
Liz Emery, a children’s librarian from Grand Haven, submitted the winning recipe. Emery said her personal preferences for snack foods led to the creation of the dish. “I was inspired to create this dish because I love fried pickles. If a restaurant sells them, I am ordering them,” Emery said. She explained that she chose the quesadilla format as a way to combine the pickles with cheese.
The Fried Pickle Quesadilla will be sold at the Quesadilla Cart, which is located on the concourse behind home plate. While the fan-voted winner has been decided, the team has not yet finished announcing its 2026 menu. Additional new food items for the upcoming season are scheduled to be revealed on Wednesday, March 18.
The Whitecaps will host their home opener on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. The game against an opponent yet to be named is scheduled to begin at 6:35 p.m. Tickets for the 2026 season are currently on sale through the team website or by calling the ticket department at 616-784-4131.
