Detroit Pistons trade Jaden Ivey to Chicago Bulls in multi-team deal

DETROIT - The Detroit Pistons have traded guard Jaden Ivey to the Chicago Bulls as part of a multi-team deal that also involves the Minnesota Timberwolves, acording to ESPN. Chicago receives Ivey and Mike Conley Jr., while Detroit acquires Kevin Huerter and Dario Šarić.

In addition to the player acquisitions, the Pistons received a 2026 first-round protected draft swap from Minnesota. The trade involving Ivey, a former fifth overall pick, comes as he averages 8.2 points per game following his return from a season-ending injury last year.

Ivey moves to Chicago after a season spent recovering from injury. He broke his fibula against the Orlando Magic in January 2025, an injury that ended his 2024-25 campaign. Before the leg injury, Ivey was on track for a potential extension after his performance alongside franchise cornerstone Cade Cunningham. During his return this season, Ivey averaged 8.2 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in just under 17 minutes per game.

The Pistons acquire 27-year-old Huerter, who was originally drafted 19th overall by the Atlanta Hawks. Huerter spent his first four seasons in Atlanta and three years with the Sacramento Kings before joining the Bulls. In 44 games for Chicago this year, Huerter averaged 10.9 points per game while shooting 45.5% from the field.

Šarić, 31, joins Detroit after a brief stint with the Bulls. Šarić had been traded from Sacramento to Chicago on Feb. 1 but was moved again before appearing in a single game for the Bulls. The forward was the 12th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic. He played two seasons overseas in Turkey for Anadolu Efes from 2014 to 2016 before joining the Philadelphia 76ers.Šarić finished second in the Rookie of the Year voting during the 2016-17 season. That performance earned him a selection to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. Throughout 498 career games, including 230 starts, Šarić has averaged 10.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game.
