Cunningham makes history as first Pistons All-Star starter since 2009

DETROIT- Cade Cunningham has been named an Eastern Conference starter for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, which is scheduled for Feb. 15, 2026, in Los Angeles. This marks Cunningham’s second All-Star selection and his first as a starter.

Cunningham is having an outstanding season, averaging 25.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, 9.6 assists and 1.46 steals per game. His 9.6 assists per game ranks second in the NBA, making him one of only two players this season averaging at least 25 points, 9 assists and six rebounds.

As the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Cunningham also ranks second in the NBA this season with 19 point-assist double-doubles. Additionally, his seven 30-point double-doubles rank fourth in the league

In franchise history, Cunningham sits second in average points per game with 22.6, third in assists per game at 7.7, and second in triple-doubles at 14.

Cunningham’s selection as a starter marks the first time a Detroit Pistons player has received this honor since Allen Iverson in 2009. The All-Star Game format for 2026 will include two teams from the United States and one international team, with a mini-tournament style to be executed at the Intuit Dome.
