BIG RAPIDS- The Ferris State University PGA Golf Management Program brought together over 100 alumni, current students, and faculty to celebrate its 50th anniversary and raise money for future students.

The celebration, held in October, raised more than $36,000 for scholarship funding and towards the establishment of two new endowed scholarships to provide support for Golf Management students for the foreseeable future.

Ferris State’s program is one of just 18 in the country and the first of its kind sanctioned by the PGA. The program teaches skills from the business of club management to the physics of ball flight and the biology of turfgrass.

The event was attended by PGA of America Honorary President John Lindert and Director of Education Dawes Marlatt to celebrate the first of its kind 50-year milestone.
