NHL- The Detroit Red Wings are celebrating their franchise’s 100th birthday in style, unveiling their ‘Centennial Uniform’ today.
The Wings were established as one of the original six NHL teams in 1926, but at the time went by the Detroit Cougars and later the Falcons before adopting the Red Wings name.
The uniform features tributes to both the Cougars and Falcons names, leather-like patches, and a matte red helmet for the first time in franchise history.
The uniform will be unveiled on October 9th against the Canadiens, and the jersey will be worn for more than a dozen home games during the 2025-26 season.
