Sault Ste. Marie native & former Ferris State player and coach Jeff Blashill named Chicago Blackhawks head coach

CHICAGO - Sault Ste. Marie native and former Ferris state hockey player and coach Jeff Blashill was named the next head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday. Jeff Blashill will be the 42nd head coach in Blackhawks history, having previously played for the Bulldogs from 1994 to 1998 and was an assistant coach at Ferris from 1999 to 2002. Blashill led the Red Wings from 2015 to 2022 and was an assistant coach in Tampa Bay, working primarily with the defense and running the penalty kill.
