BEAL CITY - The Beal City Aggies softball team won their first regional title in school history last year; this year the Aggies are ready to take the next step. Beal City graduated just one player last year, they return 8 members of their starting lineup including two first team all staters that will be seniors this year. Jason Johnston is leading the Aggies for just the 3rd season, but he’s excited about his squads’ chances to make a deep run.
“Well, I mean, our road is going to be really tough this year. We start in districts with Sacred Heart as you move through, there’s just so many really, really good teams. We know it’s going to be a challenge all the way. But I feel like we have the talent. We just have to put it together. Even last year in the quarters, we made four errors in that game. You just can’t win that way. So, if we play clean, we’re going to be really tough to beat,” said Johnston.
The Aggies open their season on April 8th.
