TRAVRESE CITY- There was a chance at history tonight in Traverse City as Reece Broderick needed just two 3-pointers to overtake the top spot in MHSAA record books for most career 3-pointers made. A good game to do it in as well, a rivalry matchup between the Sabres and Lake Leelanau St. Mary for the Cherryland Trophy.
Broderick would hit both threes in the first quarter, and the Sabres went on to get the win tonight 52-40. When asked about what it means to him to be Michigan’s new 3-point king, Broderick was just happy his team got the win.
“Feels good. And the win was the most important (thing) at the start of the game. (I made) two threes to start the game, and that felt nice, get it over with and focus on the dub, and focus on playoffs” (Broderick).
Reece and the 10th ranked in Division 4 Sabres have four regular season games left plus the playoffs to extend his record.
