EVART - Last November the entire Evart community was in shock as on the way to a scrimmage 4 members of the boys’ basketball team were involved in a horrific car accident. Now just about a year later all 4 players are back on the court and helping their team to a strong start to the season.
Dakobe White broke 7 bones along with dislocating his hip and sustaining a severe concussion.
Anthony Vindel broke his femur, dislocated his collarbone, and in the hospital, he caught an infection.
Ethan Warren broke his jaw, and eye socket, he also sustained a concussion and had to get facial reconstruction.
Micheal Rameso also broke his femur, his thumb, and fractured his collarbone.
The road to recovery was a long one but all 4 of the boys pushed through, with the Evart community supporting them every step of the way.
“I mean, everybody was there for me when I was in the hospital, so I guess I couldn’t really feel too bad because everybody was there for me and it was easy to recover after that,” said Dakobe White.
“I didn’t know like, this many people cared for me. Like not for me, for like us as a team and, like, the 4 people.” Said Anthony Vindel. “Then there was a Go fund me and we got like, I don’t know, something like $8,000, it’s crazy. I just didn’t know that many people cared honestly.”
