BIG RAPIDS - On Monday Ferris State celebrated the football team winning their 3rd national championship in 4 years, and the volleyball team winning their most games in school history and a regional title. There was plenty of food and drinks along with Bulldog memorabilia for fans to enjoy. Ferris State athletic director Steve Brockelbank and University president Bill Pink know that success like this for their athletic teams doesn’t come easy and should be recognized.
“I’m really fortunate to have had the success that we’ve had over the last few years of certainly football winning three out of four and the volleyball season, the NCAA Regional championship, those are special moments.” said Brockelbank. “They don’t come around often, so we want to take the time to celebrate those moments when they happen.”
“What we do here at Ferris State and the athletic success that we see is amazing. And it’s phenomenal because we’re able to not only bring in the student athletes and I mean student athletes, it’s not just about the athletic field and the athletic court. It’s about our student athletes who not only get it done on the field and on the court, but they get it done in the classroom. That for us is important, and it’s important for us to celebrate that,” said Dr. Bill Pink.
