Cadillac boys’ basketball is loaded with experience in 2024-25 season

CADILLAC - The Cadillac Vikings boys’ basketball team is already 3-0 on the season, with a trio of convincing wins. This year’s team has 7 seniors, along with a lot of height, as multiple players stand over 6′5. However, the Vikings graduated their top scorer from last year, Charlie Howell, who is now playing at Hope College. Cadillac head coach, Ryan Benzenberg, took over the team in 2014 and in two of the last three season the Vikings made it all the way to the state quarterfinal. There’s an emphasis on the defensive side of the ball and rebounding with the team, and they’ve doing exceptionally well thus far.

“We’re way ahead of the curve defensively. We haven’t had a team score over 40 on us and we have a goal to keep teams under 40 every game. Out of the 12 quarters that we’ve played, nine of them, we’ve kept teams in single digits. I mean, if we’re able to do that, we’re going to win a lot of ball games,” said coach Benzenberg.

The Vikings will take on TC West Thursday night.
