Beal City claims first State Title since 2009

DETROIT-- The Beal City Aggies advanced to the State Championship in both 2019 and 2021 but came away empty handed. Today they had a chance to once again call themselves the best in the state.

They played Riverview Gabriel Richard, a school located just fourteen miles outside of Detroit.

The Aggies went down 8-0 on the opening possession of the game but were no stranger to deficits, as third last three playoff wins all came after previously trailing.

Following the Pioneers opening touchdown, the Aggies rolled, scoring 29 unanswered points before eventually getting the win, 43-14.

Head Coach Brad Gross was a quarterback for the Aggies back in 1994, and he’s now brought home his first State Championship as head coach.

“Teams win championships, individuals win awards. So, we kind of stuck by that and I think that’s what got us here”

“That’s the greatest part, is to see these guys smiles, see them succeed, (see them) come together as a team. That’s more important to me than anything else” (Brad Gross).

“There’s just no words to explain it. That’s all I have to say”. (Owen McKenney, Senior).
