LSSU downs #4 in the country in a game with a special cause

SAULT STE. MARIE-- The 6-1 Lakers Men’s Basketball team was ranked #16 in all of Division 2 in the most recent NABC voting, today they hosted #4 Minnesota Deluth.

It was also a game with a special cause, as admission was free to all fans who brought non-perishable items to help fill the Seamore food bank and the Sault area high school food pantry.

“This is really our first time being able to do this. This is our Friendsgiving-Laker Friendsgiving. We have home basketball. Laker athletics really is all about our partnerships and our community engagements and really meet the need” (Steve Habusta, Norris Center Operations Coordinator).

The Lakers pulled out the win 53-49.
