TRAVERSE CITY — Northwest Education Services school psychologist Jim Corr received the Presidential Award in Recognition of Exceptional Service to Children and School Psychology from the National Association of School Psychologists.
According to the organization, Corr is one of a few individuals who was recognized by the association in 2026 for efforts to support children.
He has worked in the field for 28 years and currently supports students at the Life Skills Center, Adult Community Experience programs and New Horizons’ secondary programs.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by my peers at NASP, and I am fortunate to be a part of a professional community where I work alongside others who care so deeply for our mission and communities,” Corr said.
As a school psychologist, Corr collaborates with parents and educators to provide student support.
He also serves as a Michigan delegate for the National Association of School Psychologists Leadership Assembly and holds a seat on the organization’s Nominations & Elections Committee.
“Jim is an exceptional leader and a trusted resource for students, school families and colleagues,” said Carol Greilick, Northwest Education Services assistant superintendent of Special Education. “His advocacy for student success and his work to champion inclusive, collaborative approaches has been invaluable in creating a thriving learning environment at our schools.”
The National Association of School Psychologists represents more than 24,000 professionals. The organization promotes practices intended to support student learning, behavior and mental health.
“I am humbled by this award, which I share with the many school psychologists working tirelessly for their communities across the nation,” Corr said. “I want to thank the North Ed Administration and Board of Education for their continued support and for the privilege of serving in this role.”
