TRAVERSE CITY — Kitchen Choreography announced plans to relocate its design studio to a newly purchased space on 8th Street in the Oakwood District in Apr. 2026.
The firm, founded in Apr. 2003 by Mike and Angela Goodall, has completed more than 1,000 projects across Northern Michigan.
According to the founders, the new location near the Civic Center marks a shift toward a mid-century modern aesthetic compared to the firm’s current historic showroom at the Grand Traverse Commons.
“This next chapter reflects both growth and evolution,” said Angela Goodall, co-owner and lead designer. “We are thrilled to be in the center of it all — closer to our clients, collaborators, and the vibrant downtown energy of Traverse City.”
The company moved to its current location at the Grand Traverse Commons in July 2012. The 3,500-square-foot former Steward’s residence was originally built in 1896 and underwent extensive renovations before the firm opened there.
In 2013, the History Center Awards Committee of Traverse City recognized the business for its restoration efforts and commitment to historic preservation.
“Restoration and thoughtful renovation have always been part of our story,” said Mike Goodall. “While we’re excited for a fresh, modern studio environment, we remain deeply committed to honoring the history and character of the Traverse City community.”
The Goodalls said they will retain ownership of the historic property at the Commons and have future plans for the site following the relocation. Additional details regarding the new studio and upcoming events will be released as the move approaches.
