ROSCOMMON COUNTY — Richfield Township opened its compost site ahead of schedule Wednesday to help residents begin cleaning up after recent storms. The facility will be available daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting today.
Along with the early opening of the compost site, the township is maintaining a warming center at the Township Hall. The facility is intended to serve residents who are still without electricity following the storm.
The compost site is located on East Airport Road, situated behind the Richfield Township park and campground area. For the time being, the maintenance supervisor has directed residents to use the campground road to access the facility.
Township officials are also offering assistance to residents who need to reach the warming center. Crews are available to provide transportation for citizens to and from the Township Hall. Residents with specific needs are encouraged to reach out to the township office for help.
The warming center is scheduled to remain operational until power has been restored to the entire township.
