Weather prompts closures and advisories across the area

TRAVERSE CITY — Several closures and advisories are in place throughout Northern Michigan for March 16. We will continue to update this list throughout the day and evening.

Antrim County: Due to the weather, the 86th District Court in Antrim County is closed March 16. All in-custody emergency matters (including emergency filings) will be conducted while the court is closed.

Benzie County: Government offices and courts are closed March 16.

Charlevoix: The Charlevoix Public Library is closed March 16.

Gladwin County: The Council on Aging has announced all home delivered meals and meal sites will be closed Monday, March 16.

Grand Traverse County: Due to the weather, the 86th District Court in Grand Traverse County is closed March 16. All in-custody emergency matters (including emergency filings) will be conducted while the court is closed.

The county offices are closed March 16 and the Grand Traverse Emergency Services have asked travel to be restricted to essential trips only to let crews clear the roads. “If you do not need to and about, stay home. It will take some time to et the roads clear due to the heavy, wet consistency of the snow.”

Leelanau County: Due to the weather, the 86th District Court in Leelanau County is closed March 16. All in-custody emergency matters (including emergency filings) will be conducted while the court is closed.

The county offices planned to delay the start of the day and then closed for March 16. Emergency services and road maintenance operations will continue as normal. First responders, including law enforcement, remain on duty and road crews will work to maintain safe roads.

Montmorency County: The Commission on Aging is closed March 16. All services are closed including in-home and meals.

Osceola County: A travel advisory was posted at 6:21 a.m. by the county emergency management office.

“Public safety and road commission are currently dealing with numerous road blockages from trees and power lines down,” the advisory said.

Traverse City: The City Commission regular meeting has been cancelled for March 16.
