MACKINAW CITY — MDOT and the Mackinac Bridge Authority are warning travelers that the bridge has been closed due to hazardous falling ice conditions.
“Due to recent freezing rain in the Straits, roughly one-half inch of ice has formed on the upper cables and towers,” the Bridge Authority reported.
They did not have an estimate of when the bridge would reopen.

Drivers should avoid the bridge area to allow maintenance vehicles to operate. 9&10 News will share more information as it becomes available.
