Law enforcement responds to incident on Mackinac County’s Bois Blanc Island

Suspect now reportedly in custody

MACKINAC COUNTY — Michigan State Police and Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office were on the scene of what was described as a “law enforcement situation.”

We had received reports of an intoxicated man armed with an AR-15 rifle. That information has not been confirmed by any law enforcement agency.

According to the Bois Blanc Island Fire Department’s Facebook page, there is now a suspect in custody and no known injuries.

In an earlier post, they said they were aware of an incident involving automatic weapons.

Mackinac County 911 Director, Bryce Tracy, did tell 9&10 News there were Michigan State Police and Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office assets on Bois Blanc Island. He underscored there has been no loss of life and there was no threat to the general public.
