Clare County deputies arrest multiple suspects in methamphetamine raids

CLARE COUNTY — Deputies with the Clare County Sheriff’s Office executed several search warrants over the weekend, resulting in multiple arrests related to methamphetamine.

According to a sheriff’s office report released March 3, deputies went to 202 Barbara Lane in Hayes Township on Friday, Feb. 26, to try to locate 40-year-old Kyle Willard Giddings of Harrison, who had an outstanding arrest warrant. A deputy saw pipes and a white crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine in plain view.

After a search warrant was obtained, deputies found a personal-use amount of methamphetamine, Suboxone strips, pipes and syringes used to ingest methamphetamine and ammunition. Craig Glenn Giddings, 36, of Harrison, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a drug house.

Casey Alan Morgan, 42, of Harrison, was charged with possession of methamphetamine with a second or subsequent offense notice, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person and he was also lodged on two active arrest warrants.

Cierra Michelle Smith, 28, of Harrison, was charged with possession of methamphetamine with a second or subsequent offense notice and possession of analogues with a second or subsequent offense notice.

All three were arraigned in the 80th District Court in Clare County, with bond set at $20,000 (10%) for Craig Giddings and Morgan and $12,000 (10%) for Smith.

During the initial investigation, deputies obtained information about narcotics activity and a possible location of Kyle Giddings at 5287 Apache Trail in Hayes Township, leading to a search warrant at the residence of Amanda Marie Demille, 41, of Harrison. Deputies found glass pipes with methamphetamine residue, needles and spoons used to consume methamphetamine, and Demille was charged with possession of methamphetamine with a second or subsequent offense notice. Bond was set at $7,500 (10%).

Deputies later located Kyle Giddings back at 202 Barbara Lane on Saturday, Feb. 27, and arrested him on his original warrants. He was also charged with maintaining a drug house with a second or subsequent offense notice and bond was set at $20,000 cash.

Deputies also arrested Corey James Lane, 50, of Harrison, on a warrant for absconding from parole after locating him at a residence on East Arnold Lake Road in Hayes Township.

During that contact, deputies encountered Trever Charles Gottschalk, 41, of Beaverton, and observed suspected methamphetamine near him. Deputies also found a police scanner in his possession.

Gottschalk was charged with possession of methamphetamine with a second or subsequent offense notice and using a police radio scanner in the commission of a felony. Bond was set at $20,000 personal recognizance and he remained lodged on a parole violation. Lane was lodged in the Clare County Jail on his outstanding warrant.

In a final search warrant, deputies searched a residence at 1:40 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at 4191 E. Monroe Road in Hatton Township, belonging to Kayla Marie Earls, 35, and Dominic Ryan Tyler, 32, both of Harrison. Deputies seized more than 106 grams of methamphetamine, 59 Suboxone strips and scales and packaging materials consistent with narcotics distribution.

Earls was charged with delivery or manufacture of methamphetamine, maintaining a drug house and possession of analogues. Bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety. Tyler was charged with possession of methamphetamine and bond was set at $15,000 (10%).

The investigation remains ongoing.


NOTE: All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
