CADILLAC — The Cadillac City Council will consider an ordinance March 2, 2026, to vacate a portion of Wall Street to facilitate the construction of a new 252-unit apartment complex. The proposed development, known as Lakelynn Apartments, is planned for land located south of the Ann Arbor Railroad tracks.
KMF Construction, the owner of the property, requested the vacation to allow for the development of seven three-story buildings. The Cadillac Planning Commission previously voted unanimously on Sept. 29, 2025, to recommend that the council approve the street vacation while maintaining city utility access.
The Lakelynn Apartments project is planned for property at 160 Mosser St. According to development renderings and site plans, the complex will feature seven separate residential structures. Each building is designed to stand three stories tall.

The specific area requested for vacation is the portion of Wall Street located south of the Ann Arbor Railroad right of way. This property is part of the C.K. Russell’s Subdivision of Out Lot No. 14 within Wexford County.
As part of the proposed resolution, the City of Cadillac would reserve a public utility easement over the vacated land. This reservation ensures the city retains the right to access and maintain infrastructure within the area while allowing the private development to proceed.
The City Council is asked to adopt the ordinance during its session on March 2. The move would finalize the recommendation made by the Planning Commission in 2025.
