LUDINGTON — The Ludington Area Center for the Arts is inviting visual artists of all ages to submit work for its annual “Modes of Abstraction,” an abstract art exhibit scheduled for April.

The monthlong exhibition will be held in the center’s main gallery and performance hall lobby gallery and will feature original abstract artwork from area and regional artists, according to a Feb. 20 news release.

The exhibit will run April 3-25 with a free public opening reception Friday, April 3 from 4-7 p.m.

The exhibit is open to 2-D and 3-D artwork in a variety of media. Two-dimensional work must be ready to hang, and yarn, string and saw tooth hangers are not allowed. Pedestals are available for three-dimensional pieces. The center’s exhibition committee reserves the right to exclude artworks that are not ready for display.

Artists may enter up to two original works created within the past year, and at least one piece per artist is guaranteed to be included. There is a $10 entry fee per artist, and the exhibit is open to Ludington Area Center for the Arts members and non-members.

Artists will be asked to complete an exhibition contract when dropping off artwork, and each piece should include a tag on the back with the artist’s name, title, price and medium.

Artwork will be accepted March 14-25 during normal business hours: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The center is closed Sunday and Monday.
