TRAVERSE CITY — Cherry Capital Airport will launch daily nonstop service to Boston with Delta Air Lines starting May 21, 2026. The expanded summer connectivity aims to meet high demand for travel between Northern Michigan and New England.
The daily flights will operate through Sept. 7, 2026, covering the peak summer travel season. This service expansion is part of the airport’s effort to improve regional air service and enhance domestic and international connectivity for local passengers.
The Boston service provides Northern Michigan travelers with one-stop access to several international destinations. Passengers can connect through Boston to European cities including Rome, Athens, Amsterdam and Madrid.
Cherry Capital Airport CEO Kevin Klein highlighted the importance of the partnership with the airline.
“We are excited to welcome Delta’s expanded daily Boston service this summer,” Klein said. “This added frequency provides travelers with more opportunities to access Boston and the Northeast and it enhances connectivity for those continuing to domestic and international destinations through Delta’s network. We’re grateful for Delta’s continued investment in our community.”
Cherry Capital Airport currently hosts six major airlines and offers 19 nonstop routes to destinations across the United States. The airport contributes more than $1 billion in annual economic impact to the local area, supporting regional growth, tourism and jobs.
The facility is also undergoing an expansion project titled TVC: Gates to the Future. This initiative includes a new terminal area and the addition of five gates. Airport officials expect the expansion to nearly double the airport’s economic influence while increasing passenger capacity and convenience.
