LANSING — The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is inviting organizations to apply for grant funding to launch Recovery Community Centers and Recovery Community Organizations across the state.
The money comes from Michigan’s Opioid Healing and Recovery Fund and can be used for start-up and early operating costs like staffing, training, facility leases, utilities, and licensing.
State health leaders say the goal is to expand peer-led support and locally driven recovery options in communities hit hardest by addiction.
Recovery Community Centers typically provide a physical, welcoming space for recovery-focused activities, while Recovery Community Organizations offer peer support, outreach, education, and advocacy.
Officials said priority will go to groups that can launch services within three months of receiving funds.
Each applicant can receive up to $75,000, with the grant period running from April 1 through September 30, 2026.
