Two men charged after cocaine found during I-75 traffic stop

ROSCOMMON COUNTY — Two men face felony drug charges after Michigan State Police said they seized around 18 grams of suspected cocaine during a traffic stop on northbound Interstate 75 in Richfield Township.

Aaron Seitman, 47, of Atlanta, Michigan and Shawn MacDonald, 43, of Gaylord, were arraigned on Feb. 4 in the 82nd District Court in Roscommon County. Both men are charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance less than 50 grams, involving cocaine, heroin or other narcotics.

The incident began around 11:03 p.m. when troopers from the Michigan State Police Houghton Lake Post stopped the vehicle for an unspecified traffic violation. During a roadside investigation, troopers said they discovered the suspected cocaine and additional drug-related items inside the vehicle.

Seitman and MacDonald were taken to the Roscommon County Jail. Both men remained in custody leading up to their court appearance.

Seitman and MacDonald are scheduled to return to the 82nd District Court for their next appearance on Feb. 18 at 9:00 a.m.
