MONTMORENCY COUNTY — An Atlanta, MI man is facing domestic assault charges. On Jan. 21, around 4:10 a.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police Alpena Post were called to a home in Montmorency County’s Avery Township for an alleged domestic violence incident involving 22-year-old Ethan Hodnett.

The preliminary investigation showed that Hodnett allegedly physically assaulted the victim following an argument. He ran from the scene before troopers got there.
Hodnett was arrested and taken to the Alpena County Jail on charges of Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder/Strangulation. He was arraigned in the 88th District Court in Montmorency County on Jan. 23. His next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 30 at 10:30 a.m.
