SUTTONS BAY — Tomorrow night, Suttons Bay Public Schools will be hosting a public forum regarding the district’s bond project work that passed in 2024.
The $18 million bond project will focus on tearing down the old middle school building, which has sat empty for 15 years.
Superintendent Casey Petz says the goal of the forum is transparency for the community.
Petz adds that they will also cover timelines for the demolition, the relocation of some of their fields, and connecting all buildings with a secure corridor.
He also went over one of the most commonly asked questions they have gotten ahead of the forum, like the cost.
Petz said in the short term, there isn’t much of an impact to their general fund, but in the long term, once these projects start to complete, there’s significant savings associated with, energy updates and upgrades.
The meeting will be at 5:00pm in the Suttons Bay High School Auditorium.
