HORTON TOWNSHIP — A traffic crash on I-75 in Ogemaw County left a 37-year-old man from Rock dead.
He lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree.
The crash occurred just after 4PM Friday near Greenwood Road in Horton Township. Preliminary investigations indicate the driver was traveling southbound on I-75 when he changed lanes, lost control in slush on the roadway and collided with a tree.

Emergency responders transported the driver to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Ogemaw County Animal Control removed two dogs from the vehicle following the incident and took them to the Rea Family Animal Shelter.
The man’s name has not been released.
This incident is under investigation.
