TRAVERSE CITY — Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools students will soon be writing letters to active duty service members.
They do this during the last week of January called Catholic Schools week.
During this time, students give back to the community, and on “Celebrating Our Nation’ Day, student write letters to those serving the country.
8th Grader Kasia Rozanski wrote a letter last year to a service member, and even welcomed home the mid-Michigan Honor Flight to the Cherry Capital Airport.
She says that she enjoys writing the letters, and appreciates all that the servicemen and women have done for the country.
Kasia Rozanski, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Middle School “Like Christ said, to lay down your life for another is one of the best things you can do to lay down your life for a friend. It feels really good to be able to acknowledge them and for them to know that we are truly there for them and that we truly are really grateful for all that they’ve done for our country. ”
