TRAVERSE CITY — Golden-Fowler Home Furnishings announced that Amanda Eshleman has become the Traverse City business’ fourth owner, taking over as president Jan. 1.
According to a Jan. 13 news release, the store has been a Traverse City landmark since 1960, with each of its four previous leaders working their way through every position in the company before taking the helm.
Mike Mahn, the store’s most recent owner, said Eshleman “understands what makes Golden-Fowler special — our unique place in Traverse City’s marketplace and the people who bring that promise to life every day.”
“With her leadership, our team of dedicated staff and their families will continue to thrive, and our tradition of serving customers with care and integrity will carry forward for years to come,” Mahn said.
The store said it will hold an event Jan. 23 to celebrate Eshleman’s accomplishment.
A re-creation of the original 1960 grand opening photo will be taken at noon that day, according to the release.
The store said the photo will include Eshleman, members of the Oleson family and Mahn.
