LOCATION TAG — Generations Ahead has appointed Yarrow Brown as its new Executive Director, effective Feb. 2, 2026. Brown will succeed Marjie Rich, who retired in August 2025 after eight years of service.
Brown brings more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, having previously served as the Executive Director of Housing North since May 2020. Her leadership at Housing North involved addressing housing barriers in Northwest Michigan and aligning initiatives with local and state policymakers.
Brown has a distinguished background in executive leadership, project management and fundraising. At Housing North, she cultivated major donors and organized the annual Northwest Michigan Housing Summit, successfully increasing participation and sponsorship since 2020.
Alison Metiva, Board Chair of Generations Ahead, expressed confidence in Brown’s capabilities, stating, “Yarrow’s depth of experience, collaborative leadership style and commitment to community-centered work make her an exceptional choice to lead Generations Ahead into its next chapter.”
Generations Ahead has been dedicated to supporting teen parents in a five-county region by providing critical resources, including an onsite baby pantry, social groups, internships and mentorship opportunities, helping young families thrive.
