Yarrow Brown to Lead Generations Ahead as New Executive Director

LOCATION TAG — Generations Ahead has appointed Yarrow Brown as its new Executive Director, effective Feb. 2, 2026. Brown will succeed Marjie Rich, who retired in August 2025 after eight years of service.

Brown brings more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, having previously served as the Executive Director of Housing North since May 2020. Her leadership at Housing North involved addressing housing barriers in Northwest Michigan and aligning initiatives with local and state policymakers.

Brown has a distinguished background in executive leadership, project management and fundraising. At Housing North, she cultivated major donors and organized the annual Northwest Michigan Housing Summit, successfully increasing participation and sponsorship since 2020.
