WEXFORD COUNTY — A 52-year-old Cadillac woman was arrested after Michigan State Police troopers responding to a call about a possible domestic assault found a small baggie containing a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine during a search of a vehicle
Per a Dec. 29 MSP news release, troopers from the Michigan State Police Cadillac Post responded Sept. 5 to the Walmart parking lot in Haring Township to investigate a possible domestic assault inside a vehicle, the release said.
Preliminary investigation determined no domestic assault occurred, but troopers learned the passenger, Jamie Rise, had an outstanding warrant for her arrest.
Rise was taken into custody and a search of the vehicle was conducted, the release said. During the search, troopers located a small baggie containing a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.
A report was submitted to the Wexford County Prosecutor’s Office for review, the release said. Rise was subsequently charged with one count of controlled substance possession of methamphetamine or ecstasy, a controlled substance second subsequent offense notice and a habitual offender fourth offense notice.
On Dec. 13, troopers arrested Rise and lodged her at the Wexford County Jail, the release said.
She was arraigned Dec. 15 in the 84th District Court in Wexford County and given a $25,000 cash or surety bond.
Rise is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
