TRAVERSE CITY — Mt. Holiday is closed today despite that anticipation of opening weekend after severe weather caused ongoing safety concerns.
Management announced the closure citing a continued power outage, storm debris left behind by strong winds, and a sudden drop in temperatures that turned many areas into sheets of ice.
Officials said crews are working to clear debris and assess conditions, but without power and with icy surfaces, opening safely was not possible.

The business said it is preparing to reopen tomorrow at 1 p.m., pending power restoration.
