MANTON — The Manton Public Library is hosting a new event called Blind Date with a Book, aimed at encouraging readers to explore new titles.
The program features books donated to the library, wrapped in festive paper with descriptions to entice readers to try something they might otherwise overlook.
“Everybody talks about how we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but that’s a common issue that people have,” said Tracy Logan, Director of Cadillac Wexford Public Library. “There are a lot of wonderful books that are maybe older and don’t have fancy covers. But they’re still wonderful stories and they deserve to be read.”
The Blind Date with a Book event allows readers to keep the books they choose, eliminating concerns about late fees.
These blind date books can be picked up at the Manton, Cadillac, and Mesick Public Libraries.
The event offers a fun and surprising way for readers to discover new authors and genres, with the added benefit of keeping the books they select.
