CADILLAC — WexExpress supported Project Christmas 2025 by delivering food and gifts to more than 250 families and individuals and offering transportation to the annual shopping event at the Wexford Civic Center.

Per a Dec. 9 news release, for 30 years Project Christmas has helped qualifying families in Wexford and Missaukee counties, many of whom would not be able to celebrate the holiday without community support.

“The planning committee works year-round in coordination with several local organizations to prepare for the large community event each December,” said Erin Barbus, Project Christmas 2025 publicity volunteer. “We expect 2025 to be a record-breaking year, both for the needs of our community members and for the generosity of the sponsors, local businesses and the contributions of individuals in the area.”

WexExpress drivers will deliver packages Dec. 11, 12 and 13 and provide free rides to and from The Wex during the Project Christmas shopping event on Dec. 13. Attendees seeking transportation must book ahead through WexExpress dispatch.

“Our drivers look forward to this event every year,” said Carrie Thompson, WexExpress executive director. “We have many who volunteer to help do deliveries, including retirees who return for this event.”
