Walstrom Marine’s Tom Ervin joins Michigan Boating Industry Hall of Fame

GRAND RAPIDS — Walstrom Marine announced that three members of its team were honored by the Michigan Boating Industry Association during the organization’s annual awards dinner on Dec. 6 in Grand Rapids.

According to a Dec. 8 news release, Tom Ervin was inducted into the MBIA Hall of Fame, recognizing his long-standing contributions to Michigan’s boating industry and his leadership at Walstrom Marine since 2016.

The company said his tenure has included expanding its brand portfolio, strengthening service capabilities and growing its presence across the state.

Two Walstrom Marine service technicians were also recognized. Brian Johnson received the Outstanding Technician Award for his technical expertise, dedication to quality service and commitment to customer satisfaction. Cody Beach earned the Marine Technician New Achiever Award for his professional growth, work ethic and promise as an emerging leader in the marine service field.

The association said its recognition highlights the dedication and professionalism of those shaping recreational boating in Michigan.

Walstrom Marine said that the technician awards reinforce its commitment to cultivating top-tier service talent and customer care.

Founded in 1946 by Ward Walstrom Sr. and Paul Griffeth, Walstrom Marine has grown over 79 years to become a leading boat dealer in Northern Michigan. The company operates five dealership locations, marinas in Harbor Springs and Algonac, and storage and service facilities in Harbor Springs, Charlevoix, Traverse City and Cheboygan.
