Representatives from both organizations will present details about the sale and answer questions from community members. Michigan-based Public Sector Consultants will facilitate each conversation.

The first meeting, focused on Hodenpyl and Tippy dams, is scheduled from 6-7:30 p.m. Dec. 15 at Crystal Mountain Resort, 12500 Crystal Mountain Dr. in Thompsonville.

The second meeting, covering Hardy, Croton and Rogers dams, will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Eisler Center at Ferris State University, 805 Campus Dr. in Big Rapids.

Consumers Energy said the sale will reduce long-term costs for customers and ensure the dams continue operating safely while providing economic and recreational benefits to surrounding communities.

Confluence Hydro’s leadership has managed dozens of power facilities, including hydroelectric dams, with a focus on improving safety, sustainability and clean energy generation.
