Police release new details on man’s death on Lake Huron, assistance sought in identification

PRESQUE ISLE COUNTY — Michigan State Police troopers are asking for the public’s help identifying a deceased man found last week along the Lake Huron shoreline in Ocqueoc Township.

Troopers from the MSP Alpena Post responded to a residence on Raven Drive on Nov. 26 after the man was discovered on the shore, according to a news release.

Per a Dec. 2 news release update, new case details revealed the man was wearing a white t-shirt with “Allegra” on the front in colorful letters, a black North Face jacket, American Eagle undergarments with an aquatic print and blue jeans. Investigators estimate he was about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 165 pounds.

MSP said the preliminary investigation indicates the man may have been deceased for anywhere from three months to three years. Due to his condition, investigators have been unable to determine additional identifying information.

The medical examiner’s investigation is ongoing, and foul play is not suspected.
