CADILLAC — A Northern Michigan restaurant that closed down earlier this year after only being open for 8 months, is making a comeback in just a few days.
Indian Spice in Cadillac made the announcement Monday that they plan to return starting Nov. 6, after shutting down at the end of August due to issues with mismanagement.
Co-owner Dave Chugh said he hopes people give them one more opportunity to prove themselves.
“I would just say that, to give us a second chance, give us a try because this new chef brings in a lot of experience,” Chugh said. “He’s an educated chef from a university where he studied culinary arts. So, he’s very good with different kinds of Indian cuisine.”
Chugh said when they were about to close, they noticed that there was still demand for Indian Cuisine, so they decided to give it another shot.
“It’s going to be completely under my management,” Chugh said. “A completely new beginning from scratch. Now we are focusing more on what people have asked for. They ask for more seafood. So, we have an extensive menu now. And, they’ll have a lot of dishes with seafood in them. We are also introducing South Indian cuisine. Because our chefs are from South India.”
He said some of their former waitstaff are returning, but they are still looking for more experienced servers and bussers to join their team.
