Baldwin man charged with murder after gas station shooting

BALDWIN — A Baldwin man is behind bars facing murder charges after Lake County Sheriff Rich Martin said he shot another man at a gas station.

Martin said David Lee was arraigned Friday afternoon in a Lake County courtroom on open murder and gun-related charges.

Martin said they responded to a call around 1:30 p.m. Oct. 23 to the Wesco Gas station on Michigan Avenue.

They discovered a Reed City man had been shot to death.

The sheriff said no bond was set because of the danger to the community and the nature of the crime.

The next court date is scheduled for 10 a.m. October 30.
