CADILLAC — The Cadillac Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign starts up next month and they need help lining up those on the front lines, the bell ringers
The Red Kettle Campaign, called “Give with Joy” is their biggest fundraiser of the year to help the non-profit with their various community outreach programs.
Officer in Command, Captain Greg Bock said they have over 5,000 volunteer hours that need to be filled and volunteers only need to commit to an hour or more at a time.
He said last year, they did not have enough bell ringers and that impacts their ability to fundraise.
“That kettle could be out there with the stand in the kettle in a sign Salvation Army “Give with Joy’, however, if there’s no ringer at that kettle, it means the donations go way, way, way down. That’s why volunteerism, especially for this cause, is important, because it really is the lifeblood of the kettle campaign season,” said Bock.
The ‘Give with Joy’ Red Kettle Campaign kicks off November 12th, with kettles being put out at various locations, starting on the 14th and runs through Christmas Eve.
Their fundraising goal is $300,000 this year.
