Manistee City Council renews $12,000 partnership with Housing North and next steps for beach venue

MANISTEE — The Manistee City Council moved forward on multiple key issues listed in their Tuesday night agenda.

A one-year partnership with Housing North, a local nonprofit that addresses community housing shortages, was renewed.

However, the city council lowered its contribution from the $16,000 Housing North requested to $12,000.

Council members voted in favor of the Manistee Amphitheater Foundation. The foundation will now be allowed to move forward with pursuing funding through grants to develop a beach band shell for concerts.
