YATES TOWNSHIP — Two people from Evart were killed Sunday evening in a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV on US-10 near Forman Road, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office
Per an Oct. 6 news release, deputies were dispatched to the scene around 6:40 p.m. and found a witness performing CPR on the motorcycle’s male operator. A deputy began CPR on the female passenger, but both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff’s office said the victims were a 53-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman, both from Evart.
Preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle was traveling east on US-10 when an SUV heading west turned in front of it while entering a private driveway. The SUV driver, a 54-year-old man from Chase, did not appear to have major injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
