TRAVERSE CITY — For three years Traverse City has been home to the International Fireworks Championship.
Despite the weather much of the state saw earlier today, the fireworks show is still on.
Starting tonight and into tomorrow, China, Poland, Serbia, Portugal, Canada, and the USA—will light up the sky in an epic battle for fireworks supremacy.
Gates at the Turtle Creek stadium will open at 6:00 PM each night and the show will start at dusk, which is predicted to be at 8:30 PM.
Mickey Graham with Traverse City Tourism says that Today and Saturday will be filled with amazing sites that will amaze the public.
Mickey adds that “what makes it special, is that we invite just the best to come in here and do this and that. The emphasis is really not on the big boomers like you would see at the 4th of July or something like that. But on the artistry of it. So and when you see the shows, you understand the designer’s concepts and the music. They choose it. When it melts all together. It’s it’s a spectacular performance. And I do want to warn you that if you do come tonight, tomorrow, it may ruin every other firework show you’ve ever seen for the rest of your life. ”
While tickets are still available, Mickey says that buying them beforehand ensures people have a chance to watch the show.
